Considering the age of the preschool children, holding their attention on one particular activity for a longer duration of time is a task in itself.
Rather than making them sit down for 45 minutes and trying to drill the numbers, alphabets and other preschool curriculum into them, I find the fun approach to learning much more effective.
I have, and in this instance I can go ahead in saying that we all have, to a certain extent noticed, that there is only always one thought on the preschoolers mind all the time and that is to escape from the drilling exercises and continue from where they left i.e playing.
A more practical approach would be, to understand the curriculum yourself and teaching the preschooler the way he finds interesting. That is through some fun preschool educational games and activities.
This is much more relaxed and fun approach, but with far better outcome than possibly imagined.
What age do you begin teaching ?
It is never too early if we adopt the fun way of teaching, according to me. You can make a game out of any situation and use it to put your lesson through to your preschooler.
This gives us an opportunity to teach them what we think is important, with assured satisfaction of seeing them getting interested and more involved.
Singing the all time favourite preschool ABC song does not seem like you are trying to teach your kid, but it is more of a fun thing you are doing with your child, while he is picking up learning letters at the same time.
When I and Adi, my 3 year old are counting cars on our journey back home from work everyday, it is not learning numbers time for Adi, but more of a fun activity we share.
Children remember any activity easily if there is excitement & laughter in it.
Have these two ingredients in any preschool educational games or activities you decide to play with your preschooler and that will make learning fun and easy to remember for your child.
During this activity, talking constantly, explaining the activity to him/her helps to keep your kid interested in the activity.
